These Terms & Conditions apply to all delivery requests placed through Driver’G Delivery, including requests submitted through our website, by phone, or through partner businesses.
By requesting a delivery, you agree to the following terms.
1. How the Service Works
Driver’G Delivery is a local delivery service that picks up orders from restaurants, grocery stores, retail stores, and other businesses and delivers them to your location.
In some cases, orders can be paid for directly with the store or through an online system. In other situations, our driver may need to place or pay for the order on your behalf in order to complete the delivery.
By requesting a delivery, you authorize Driver’G Delivery and its drivers to purchase items from the requested store on your behalf when necessary to complete the delivery.
2. Service Area
Driver’G Delivery operates primarily within Nelson, British Columbia and surrounding areas. Service availability and delivery pricing may vary depending on distance, delivery zone, and location accessibility.
3. Customer Information
Customers are responsible for providing accurate delivery details including:
- Correct delivery address
- Correct phone number
- Unit numbers, gate codes, or buzzer information when applicable
Incorrect or incomplete information may delay delivery and may result in additional charges if a driver must return or make another delivery attempt.
4. Payment Responsibility
If Driver’G Delivery pays for an order on behalf of the customer, the customer is responsible for reimbursing the full cost of the order along with any applicable delivery or processing fees.
Payment may be collected before delivery, at the time of delivery, or through another agreed payment method depending on the order.
If a driver has already purchased items on a customer’s behalf and payment is refused upon delivery, the customer remains responsible for the cost of the order and delivery service.
5. Delivery Fees
Delivery fees are based on distance, location, order size, and the type of business the order is picked up from.
Fees may vary depending on delivery zone, order complexity, or special delivery circumstances. All applicable delivery charges will be communicated when the order is placed or confirmed.
6. Customer Availability for Delivery
Customers must be available to receive their delivery once an order has been placed.
Driver’G Delivery may send notifications when an order is received, when it is picked up, and when the driver is on the way. Customers should remain reachable during this time in case the driver needs assistance completing the delivery.
In situations such as apartment buildings, gated properties, hidden driveways, incorrect addresses, or non-working buzzers, the driver may attempt to contact the customer by phone.
Customers must ensure they are reachable by phone and able to provide instructions if needed.
If the driver cannot reach the customer or access the location after reasonable attempts, the delivery may be considered unsuccessful.
If a second delivery attempt is requested, an additional delivery fee may apply.
If the unsuccessful delivery was caused by incorrect contact information provided by the store or partner business, the additional delivery fee may be assigned to the store.
7. Contactless Delivery
Customers may request contactless delivery where the order is left at the door or designated location without direct interaction.
When contactless delivery is requested, customers should provide clear instructions in the order notes.
Driver’G Delivery is not responsible for orders that are left unattended after a contactless delivery has been completed according to the instructions provided.
Customers are responsible for retrieving the order promptly after delivery.
8. Item Availability & Substitutions
Driver’G Delivery does not control the inventory of the businesses we pick up from.
If an item is unavailable, the store may suggest a substitution or remove the item from the order. In some situations, our driver may contact the customer before making substitutions.
We cannot guarantee that all requested items will be available at the time of pickup.
9. Estimated Delivery Times
Delivery times are estimates only and may vary depending on store preparation times, traffic, weather conditions, and order volume.
While we aim to complete deliveries as efficiently as possible, exact delivery times cannot be guaranteed.
10. Weather & Road Conditions
Delivery times may be affected by severe weather conditions, road closures, heavy snowfall, or unsafe driving conditions.
Driver’G Delivery operates in Nelson, British Columbia where winter weather can sometimes significantly affect travel times.
If road conditions become unsafe, deliveries may be delayed, rescheduled, or canceled to ensure driver safety.
Driver safety always takes priority over delivery speed.
11. Safe Delivery Location
Customers must ensure that the delivery location is reasonably safe and accessible.
- Clear and safe walkways
- Adequate lighting at night
- Safe driveways or entrances
- Snow and ice reasonably cleared during winter
If a driver determines that a location is unsafe, they may request an alternate delivery point or delay the delivery until it is safe.
12. Large or Heavy Orders
Driver’G Delivery is intended for standard delivery orders such as restaurant meals, groceries, retail items, and similar packages.
Customers should notify Driver’G Delivery if an order contains very large quantities, oversized items, or unusually heavy items.
Examples may include:
- Very large grocery orders
- Bulk retail items
- Oversized packages
- Pallets or unusually heavy items
Some deliveries may require a larger vehicle or special arrangements and may therefore be subject to different delivery pricing.
Customers are encouraged to contact Driver’G Delivery or mention large or heavy items in the order notes before submitting the request.
13. Age-Restricted Items
Orders containing alcohol, cannabis, or other age-restricted items require valid government-issued identification at the time of delivery.
The person receiving the delivery must meet the legal age requirement under British Columbia law.
14. Age-Restricted Deliveries & Identification
For alcohol, cannabis, or any other age-restricted delivery, contactless delivery is not permitted.
The driver must verify identification in person before completing the delivery.
The name on the identification should match the name provided on the order. If the name does not match, or valid identification cannot be provided, Driver’G Delivery reserves the right to refuse delivery of the age-restricted items.
Driver’G Delivery also reserves the right to refuse or cancel the delivery of alcohol or cannabis if legal identification requirements cannot be met.
15. Respectful Conduct
Driver’G Delivery maintains a zero-tolerance policy for abusive, threatening, discriminatory, or inappropriate behavior toward our drivers or staff.
This includes harassment, racism, discrimination, or unsafe conduct during a delivery.
Driver’G Delivery reserves the right to cancel or refuse service if a driver’s safety or well-being is at risk.
16. Right to Refuse Service
Driver’G Delivery reserves the right to refuse or cancel deliveries when necessary, including situations involving safety concerns, suspected fraud, illegal activity, or violations of these Terms & Conditions.
17. Limitation of Liability
Driver’G Delivery acts as a delivery service connecting customers with local businesses.
While we take care when transporting orders, we are not responsible for errors made by the store including incorrect preparation, missing items, or product quality issues.
Any concerns regarding food or product quality should be directed to the store that prepared the order.
18. Order Processing Fee
An Order Processing Fee (0%–5%) may apply depending on the payment method used for the transaction.
Processing fees may vary between debit cards, credit cards, online payments, or other payment methods.
This fee helps cover payment processing costs and related transaction expenses.
19. Updates to Terms
These Terms & Conditions may be updated periodically as our service grows and evolves. The most current version will always be available on our website.
